by Hello, everybody! Today, I will be talking about my epic adventure at the Suba Paoay Sand Dunes in Ilocos Norte. To say that it was a total blast is an understatement. Who would’ve thought I’d conquer the dunes in a 4×4 jeep during this trip?
After touring the city of Laoag, it was time to travel to Suba, Paoay to hop into a tricked-out jeep and check out the world-famous adventure destination. Our tour group was divided into 5 or six, enough to get each one plenty of space to safely enjoy the adventure. In the end, there were 5 of us from Team Cebu in one of the 6 jeeps. I must say that I was pretty nervous at first. But seeing that our driver looked like he could handle anything the dunes threw at him, I felt a little more excited about the trip.
Suba Paoay Sand Dunes
We started with a scenic cruise, taking in the golden sand which seemed to stretch out forever. It felt like we were on another planet, to be honest! Then, the driver got playful. He hit the gas, and we were off on a wild ride. The jeep bounced and tilted, sending loose sand flying. It was exhilarating and a little scary. We were screaming at the top of our lungs the whole time. But you know? It was definitely the most fun I’ve had in a long time!
After the adrenaline rush, we reached a spot with some seriously impressive dunes close to the ocean. We made a quick stop to regroup and, of course, take the necessary selfies and groufies.
Sandboarding
After the quick stop, it was time to try sandboarding! We spent the next hour tumbling down the slopes. It was like being a kid again but with way more sand in our hair.
By the end, we were exhausted, sun-kissed, and covered from head to toe in sand. It was the perfect way to experience the beauty and thrill of the sand dunes in Suba, Paoay.
If you’re looking for an adventure that’s equal parts gorgeous scenery and heart-pounding action, this 4×4 trip is a must-do! Just remember to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a sense of adventure.
