Kadayawan Festival is Davao City‘s very well-attended annual festival. This yearly event focuses on the eleven existing lumad and moro tribes of the city. Kadayawan Festival is a showcase of culture, heritage, tradition, and beauty.
This year, I was very lucky to have finally witnessed this very special event in person. But I must say that although originally my only goal was to see the street dancing, I ended up getting so much more at the very end of the experience. Not only did I get to see the street dancing and be part of the cool, excited crowd, but I also got a chance to experience something very beautiful. I was able to meet the locals, know them better, and understand how much they value and respect their identity.
Take a look at some of the many beautiful people that I met and saw during this beautiful yearly event in Davao City.
Have you been to the city of Davao? And have you tried joining the Kadayawan Festival events that take place each year?
Also, which of my photos of the different ‘Faces of Kadayawan’ do you like the most? And if you can, can you please tell me why liked it/them? Be sure to let me know in the comments sections below. I would really appreciate some words and comments from all of you.
