The Davao Crocodile Park is one of the most popular tourist spots in Davao City. Found right within city limits in Barangay Ma-a, the park is frequented by both locals and tourists. If I am not mistaken, the park is so popular that it is almost always included in any Davao City tour, and for a good reason.
The park is actually a state-of-the-art facility for crocodile farming. And it is not surprising since the island of Mindanao is home to some of the most popular crocodiles in history. Lolong, for example, the largest crocodile in captivity, was from Agusan del Sur, a province in Mindanao.
Now, aside from being a crocodile facility, the park is also known for a lot of other things. The park also has bird shows, a petting section for various animals, and even dining outlets.
During our visit, we were lucky to arrive just in time for the start of the bird and animal show.
One of the highlights of the show was this big bird flying through the crowd and straight to the stage. It was pretty awesome.
This section of the Davao Crocodile Park allowed visitors to touch and even have photos with various wild animals.
For that particular day, they had a small crocodile and a snake.
They said that the snake was less scary. So, snake it is! 🙂
Of course, a visit to the park wouldn’t be complete without dropping by the crocodile section.
Here, you get to see various crocodiles in their private pens.
This one emerged from under the water. It looked so pretty.
This one was pretty big. It wasn’t as big as Lolong, but it was still massive!
Next, we went to see the koi pond. It was lovely.
We also dropped by the ostrich pen where we got to interact with this gorgeous creature.
This ostrich initially didn’t seem to appreciate our presence. Hehe.
But after a while, it relaxed and posed for a photo. Hehe.
More visitors arrived and the ostrich gamely posed in front of all of them.
To end our Davao Crocodile Park visit, we dropped by the ice cream hut to try their crocodile ice cream. Yum!
