The Hinatuan River, more popularly known as Enchanted River, in Barangay Talisay in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur is one of the most-visited tourist spots in the region The river, with its fresh, crystal clear water, is a favorite haunt of free-hand divers and snorkeling enthusiasts. Due to its unparalleled beauty, and a few inexplicable mysteries surrounding its beauty and nature, it is known today simply as the Enchanted River of Surigao del Sur.
Here are a few of my photos of the truly gorgeous Hinatuan River. Enjoy!
Enchanted River of Hinatuan
Due to how extremely deep the water is, the river is perfect for jumps and free dives.
A young kid jumps into the crystal clear water.
In this shot, a young man takes a video of himself while swimming crossing the river.
The Enchanted River of Hinatuan flows straight towards the bay of Barangay Talisay. The entire stretch is emerald green and gives you a truly relaxing feel. I swear, it’s even more beautiful in person!
There are boats on standby along the banks of the river. Guests can rent them to get to the nearby Sibadan Fishcages restaurant.
This cute dog looks on as our boat slowly made its way out of the river towards the Sibadan Fishcages.
I saw this family enjoying the water several hundred meters from where most tourists and visitors were. They obviously want a less noisy and more relaxing early morning dip. I mean, who doesn’t?
The Enchanted River of Hinatuan has been featured many times in different travel shows all over the world. I can’t remember how many times I’ve seen it on TV (and how many times I’d included it in my must-visit list.) But now that I’ve finally been here, I must say that everyone should be able to see it in person at least once in their lives.
