Sumptuous Lunch at the Sibadan Fish Cages

One popular destination in Port Lamon in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur is the Sibadan Fish Cages. The Sibadan Fish Cages is only a few minutes away by boat from the Enchanted River. Situated a few hundred meters off the coast, this ‘floating restaurant‘ is both a local and tourist favorite. If you’re in Surigao del Sur, this massive wooden structure on stilts, which is basically located in the middle of the sea, is definitely a must-visit.

In this photo, a boat filled with tourists is seen leaving the Enchanted River for the fish cages.

On our way to Sibadan, I saw this beautiful fishing village along the coast.

Sibadan, it turned out, is actually a restaurant and a hotel. On stilts.

They have several fish cages that ‘hold’ various types of fish that you can personally pick and eat.

Right in the middle of the property is a huge fish cage which holds some of the most interesting species that they have.

If you look closely, you will see a shark and several other bigger species of fish.

Sibadan also sells other fresh seafood which they can cook while the customer waits.

One of their specialties at Sibadan is their Fish Tinola.

The owners are very particular when it comes to cleanliness. They’ve come up with a pretty interesting use for this bottle.

If you’re a little adventurous, you may even swim with the sharks and stingrays inside the fish cages.

Leaving Sibadan for the Enchanted River. See you again soon, Sibadan!

Our very highly-skilled ‘driver’ making sure we get to our destination safe and in one piece.
