The Ruins of Talisay City in Negros Occidental is one of the most visited and most well-loved historical spots in the Negros Island Region. The Ruins is what remains of the massive mansion built by one of Bacolod‘s biggest names – Don Mariano Lacson. The mansion sits on a massive plot of land and is surrounded by miles of sugarcane fields.
This tower, standing right in front of the ruins, is one of the most important landmarks in Talisay City. If you see this tower, it means that The Ruins is very close by.
Here is a wonderful view of the Ruins and the beautiful water fountain right in front of it. This image has become quite iconic. In fact, no visit to Negros Oriental is every complete without a snap of this familiar scene.
And this photo shows how the mansion looks from the side. From all angles, the mansion truly looks elegant and amazing. Now, just imagine how it looked like when people still used to live in it.
A big open space can be seen in front of the big house. The grounds are big enough for another mansion. But imagine if you lived here and you had all that space for your early morning exercise or late afternoon strolls.
The iconic 5-layer water fountain is one of the city’s most easily-recognizable symbols.
Details on the structure’s concrete facade.
